Topic 4

Life in Nazi Germany, 1933–39

What is this topic about?

Key Topic 4 explores what everyday life was like in Nazi Germany before the war. We will look at how the Nazis tried to reshape the lives of women, and how it targeted young people through strict control of schools and new youth groups. This topic also covers changes to work and living standards, showing how life improved for some and became harder for others. A major focus is on the racist beliefs of the Nazis and how these fuelled discrimination against minority groups, leading to the growing persecution of Jewish people between 1933 and 1939.
